Who We Are

Quiet Waters, Careful Hands

tidewhiissa was founded in Kuala Lumpur by a group of maritime enthusiasts who spent years working across Southeast Asian sailing routes and hospitality — and noticed a consistent gap in the market. Most yacht offerings in Malaysia leaned toward spectacle: loud décor, crowded passenger lists, and promotional energy that left little room for the sea itself.

So in 2019, they began building something smaller and more deliberate. They studied the coastline, consulted with marine naturalists, hired experienced captains with long regional histories, and designed a portfolio of just three routes — each one chosen for depth rather than novelty.

Today, tidewhiissa operates a small fleet of crewed yachts, accepting a limited number of bookings per month to maintain the standards that matter most: attentive service, onboard comfort, and the particular stillness that only open water provides.

Our office is based in Kuala Lumpur, with departure points at Klang marina, Langkawi, and Penang — chosen for their character as much as their convenience.

How We Work

Standards We Don't Compromise On

Every voyage is reviewed against a set of operational standards that cover safety, comfort, and environmental care.

Maritime Safety Certification

All captains hold valid Malaysian Department of Marine licensing. Vessels undergo regular safety inspections and carry full emergency equipment.

Marine Environment Respect

We follow strict no-anchor zones near coral and maintain low-wake speeds through protected marine areas. Waste is carried back to shore, not disposed at sea.

Onboard Catering Standards

All food is prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Dietary preferences and allergies are accommodated when noted at booking.

Guest Data Privacy

Personal information shared during booking is stored securely and never passed to third parties outside operational requirements. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Weather Monitoring Protocol

We monitor maritime weather forecasts 48 hours before each departure. Sailings are assessed and rescheduled whenever conditions present any meaningful risk.

Post-Voyage Follow-Up

Every guest receives a personal follow-up after their voyage. Feedback shapes future itineraries — we read every response.

Our Approach

Maritime Knowledge, Personal Care

Malaysia's coastal waters span remarkable variety — from the calm, sheltered straits of the western Peninsular coast to the open swells of the South China Sea. tidewhiissa has spent years developing an understanding of these waters that goes beyond chart reading: the seasonal wind patterns, the timing of tides through the Langkawi archipelago, the particular character of the Perhentian approach at different hours of day.

This regional knowledge feeds into how we design and operate each voyage. The departure times, the routes between islands, the coves we choose for anchoring — each choice carries a reason. Our captains bring that same depth of experience to every passage, adjusting naturally to the conditions of the day rather than following a fixed script.

For guests, this means a different kind of encounter with the sea. Not a performance of adventure, but an actual immersion in it — one that stays with you in a quieter, more lasting way.
